About the Position: Serves as a Civilian Pay Technician/Customer Service Representative providing civilian pay services to civilian employees, timekeepers, supervisors and the Consolidated Civilian Payroll Office for the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE) and its tenant activities of the Fort Moore installation.

Duties

Review and interpret payroll laws, policies, regulations, directives, Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS) Payroll Office Advisory Releases regarding DCPS and the Defense Automated Time Attendance and Production System (DATAAPS) application systems. Analyzes various Defense Finance and Accounting System (DFAS) pay statistical reports to identify specific problems and trends. Advises timekeepers and supervisors through biweekly (or more frequent) input, approval and certification of Time and Attendance, and labor data. Collect: correct and transmit data to DCPS and or DATAAPS for input to DFAS for biweekly payroll. Responsible for training all Timekeepers on using the DATAAPS system.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate FM Certification, FMC01-FM Certification Level 1.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
