The Program Integration Branch is seeking a Deputy Chief Health and Performance Officer (CHPO) of the Extra-vehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP). This position complements the other Deputy CHPO, collaborating with the CHPO to lead a cross-discipline HHP team and resolve EHP challenges in alignment with HHP and Health & Medical Technical Authority (HMTA) priorities. This announcement may also be used for a HHP Human Landing System Team lead role.

Duties

Co-leads the Human Health and Performance (HHP) multi-disciplinary team and interfaces with EHP to provide the expertise needed in the resolution of human-related challenges throughout the Program lifecycle. Coordinates with technical and management teams across organizations to ensure that HMTA polices, requirements, and objectives are incorporated into the development, design, testing, and operation of the EHP architecture, vehicles, and systems. Partners with the CHPO in fulfilling technical, HMTA, and managerial responsibilities for HHP support to the Program, including the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process and technical, cost, schedule, and risk reporting. Assists the CHPO with establishing infrastructure required for EHP Technical, Cost and Schedule Review preparation by integrating HHP Subject Matter Experts, Discipline Integrators, System Managers, EHP Leadership, and HHP Management. Collaborates with CHPOs from other programs and the Cross-Program Integration Team to identify, mitigate, and resolve issues and risks that involve multiple Programs. Coordinates the dispositioning or provides a disposition recommendation for EHP and HHP change requests. Represents the HHP EHP Team in support of Directorate and Division Control Boards and presents EHP status in coordination with the CHPO. Engages with the EHP to respond to actions, resolve issues, develop risks, and provide solutions as well as develops recommendations on technical issues and requirements tailoring. Plans and coordinates the HHP EHP Integration Panel, including agenda preparation, team coordination, and chairing the meeting when delegated by the CHPO. Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Leading and/or integrating multi-disciplinary team in support of a Exploration Program or other space program with focused on development of uniform objectives and standards to advise senior colleagues and officials; Managing requirements including their application to system engineering life cycle reviews of development or operational programs; Applying and tailoring human system standards in human spaceflight programs. Education

Basic Education Requirement: You must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with a major in one of the following:
a) Engineering from a college or university that has ABET accredited engineering programs
b) Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science or other field of Science
c) Computer Science that included 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of course work in any combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science with at least half of those hours in mathematics and statistics courses that included differential and integral calculus; and that provided an in-depth knowledge of theoretical and practical applications of computer science, including digital computer system architecture and system software organization, the representation and transformation of information structures, and the theoretical models for such representations and transformations.

If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.

Degrees in engineering technology are not considered qualifying for this position.
