The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a security specialist, providing reports and analysis management, limited information and industrial program support, and personnel security program functions in support of the installation.

Duties

Provides subject matter expertise and proactively guides unit personnel on the Reports and Analysis Program. Actively contributes as a team member/leader in processing applications, and issues identification cards, controlled and restricted area badges and temporary passes to eligible personnel. Interprets various DoD, Air Force, Space force, and other established federal, state, and local directive, as the functional expert, and applies them to assure program objectives.

  • DOD Security Fundamentals Professional Certification conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M and AFI 36-2645

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least three years of general experience and at least one of those years includes specialized experience equivalent to the NH-I (GS-4) grade level (or higher) or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: Knowledge of a wide range that Achieves, demonstrates, and maintains the appropriate qualifications necessary to assume and execute key acquisition and/or support requirements. Demonstrates skilled critical thinking in identifying, analyzing, and solving complex issues, as appropriate. Takes and displays personal accountability in leading, overseeing, guiding, and/or managing programs and projects within assigned areas of responsibility. Also Completed work meets project/program objectives. and see that Flexibility, adaptability, and decisiveness are exercised appropriately. OR EDUCATION: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of processes and procedures related to security forces reports and analysis functions, concepts, principles, and practices to participate in planning and implementation of security programs. 2. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establish and operating internal security programs. 3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation. 4. Skill in working with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations. 5. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 6. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes. 7. Ability to identify problems and use sound judgment and decisions to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
