Duties
You will oversee the creation and adaptation of technical data management standards, ensuring accuracy and quality.
You will create and maintain geospatial data to support diverse endeavors such as data collection, geospatial analysis, and mapping projects .
You will conduct and assist with field data collection and processing by conducting various surveys and advising on electronic data collection procedures .
You will conducts thorough reviews of both existing and incoming geospatial data to ensure currency, accuracy, usefulness, and quality.
You will document metadata according to established standards, and capture essential information such as data source, scale, map projection, and attribute details.
You will employ a wide array of methods to create and update geospatial data such as, coordinating geometry for precise positioning, keyboard entry for tabular data and on-screen digitizing from imagery for detailed mapping.
You will perform specialized and complex 2D and 3D geospatial queries and analysis using Geospatial Information System techniques such as 3D Analysis, Network Analysis, Raster Analysis, and Dynamic Tracking Analysis.

- This position requires use of a geospatial/scientific computer workstation
- This position may include exposure to outdoor environments involving moderate discomforts, such as exposure to rain or cold/hot weather that may require special safety precautions and safety gear.
- This position may require long periods of standing, walking over uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activity; and carrying/using portable backpack GPS equipment (less than 50 pounds).
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in cartography or in a related field such as photogrammetry or geodesy, where the work required similar knowledge and skills. Examples of qualifying experience: Managing an array of geospatial information and imagery sets, compiling and integrating geospatial and non-geospatial data into various Installation Geospatial Information and Services repositories to support essential business processes.
