You will serve as a Security Assistant in the Command Operations Division, in the Security Department of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

Duties

You will perform interagency coordination with other federal, state, county, and local authorities regarding routine and emergency response or other activities in relation to their jurisdiction and/or concerning properties, under their cognizance. You will monitor all appropriate alarm systems including fire alarms, IDS alarms, and duress alarms. You will operate and test all manual and automated system equipment, adjusting to individual segments, requests, and approvals. You will perform an integrated function of routine and emergency Alarm Monitoring, and, when notified, initiate the installation wide lockdown services operation for installation tenant commands.

Requirements

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Security Assistant work. I have the comprehensive knowledge of the command, state, and federal rules, regulations and procedures to answer routine and emergency requests for information and/or react appropriately to routine or emergency situations. Specialized experience duties includes the following: 1) Operating manual and automated alarm monitoring systems; 2) Monitoring alarm systems for fire, intrusion detection system (IDS), and/or duress alarms; 3) Evaluating and prioritizing requests for services, incidents, accidents, alarms, etc. by type, location, and severity; and 4) Ensuring pertinent information is communicated during emergent situations. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level.
