You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Production Support Logistics Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will provide logistics support to the assigned Industrial Integrated Product Team(s) within FRCSW, applying interpretive skills to broad ranging data, and formulating positions identifying proposed changes or additions to command policy.
You will research and/or coordinate with engineering and IPT representatives to resolve material and logistics issues within the weapon system platform being supported to meet production requirements.
You will serve on a multi-discipline team minimally composed of FRCSW, DLA, NAVSUP and external manufacturing sources to coordinate sources of supply to ensure timely material availability required for FRCSW production schedules.
You will provide guidance and coordination of the cognizant codes within FRCSW Production, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Engineering, Program Management (PMA) and Naval Supply (NAVSUP).
You will address any material issues effecting FRCSW North Island cognizant aircraft, engines, and other components programs and their associated IPT throughout their production and/or repair cycle.
You will work with production and engineering to update/correct technical data and technical publications, ensuring all technical data is correct for researching material requirements and supply posture.
You will provide high level briefings and recommendations to commanders and managers, and logistics input to team leaders involved with acquisition, sustainment and development of modifications to aircraft weapon systems and equipment.
You will conduct Integrated Logistics Assessments (ILAs) to validate the adequacy of supply inventories, personnel, facilities, tooling, support equipment and documentation, (i.e. technical manuals, repair parts lists, supply circulars).
You will analyze results of evaluations and prepare proposals to correct ILS plans; consult to formulate compromises between strategic and tactical system concerns for the attainment of ILS objectives.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Applying advanced theories, principles, and techniques of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to create and establish effective support programs for a major aircraft system (e.g. F-18); (2) Demonstrated in-depth working knowledge of aviation maintenance policies and procedures and operating environment to which assigned aircraft systems are exposed; (3) Providing acquisition management, resources management and life-cycle support to accomplish aviation program goals and objectives; (4) Evaluating aviation program to ensure compliance with logistics program processes, practices and policies; (5) Preparing, evaluating and updating various logistics documents to meet aviation program requirements; and (6) Functioning as a technical consultant to internal and external contacts regarding logistics support and FMS activities required to sustain assigned major aircraft system (e.g. F-18).

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Researches and/or coordinates with engineering and Integrated Product Teams (IPT) representatives to resolve material and logistics issues within the weapon system platform being supported to meet production requirements; 2) Defines problems and develops solutions for issues to be addressed in logistics support plans; 3)Provides planning rationale and alternatives to IPT representatives and Fleet Support Team (FST) stakeholders; 4) Works with production and engineering to update/correct technical data, such as LSA, Interactive Electronic Tech Manuals (IETMs), and technical publications

Education

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

LL.M., if related
