This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbent is a Technical Writer-Editor within the Office of the Federal Register (OFR). The incumbent will carry out assignments designed to further develop and fine-tune technical skills and judgmental aspects of the work associated with the Unit to which the incumbent is assigned, and the overall operations of the OFR.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Editing legal or regulatory written documents written by others to ensure adherence to style and formatting requirements prior to developed for publication; AND Recognizing and analyzing production problems and developing solutions to the problems; AND Communicating information effectively and diplomatically to internal and/or external audiences in furtherance to program goals. OR EDUCATION: A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Note: Only graduate study in excess of the first year (18 semester hours) is qualifying for the GS-9. NOTE: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Must have included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position. For technical manuals and specifications writers or editors, the equivalent of 15 semester hours may have been gained through vocational or educational training above the high school level at a public, private, or Armed Forces school.
