Duties

You will provide executive leadership for overseeing, monitoring, and managing USMC financial management systems. You will develop and implement the USMC financial data strategy. You will implement the operational execution of approved plans to consolidate, modernize, and transform financial management systems to improve internal controls and cyber security. You will leverage data platforms, analytics tools, and automation to empower the workforce and facilitate rapid decision-making across all levels. You will translate financial data into actionable insights, decisions, and outcomes. You will ensure financial data integrity through policies, procedures, and configuration control boards that promote standardization and reduce siloed approaches.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level III certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: advise in the initiating, designing, planning, and directing of all matters relating to financial systems and data; and develop, recommend, and implement enterprise architecture models to transform and re-engineer financial management operations; and provide executive-level coordination of financial systems' interfaces with other agency systems.
