This position is part of the Office of the Inspector General, Department of Energy in the Office of Cyber Assessments and Data Analytics. As a Auditor (Performance), you will be responsible for performing audits on IT/cybersecurity systems, provide status reports on ongoing audits, and formulate conclusions on report findings of audits. Qualifications

Additional qualification information for this job series can be found on the following Office of Personnel Management website: Auditing Series 0511 (opm.gov) BASIC REQUIREMENT: In accordance with OPM's Individual Occupational Requirements for the Auditing Series 0511, applicants must meet the following basic requirement: Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours. In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement as described above, applicants must possess the following specialized experience: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Independently performing complex performance audits of high-risk programs, evaluating policies and procedures, determining the adequacy of control mechanisms to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse in programs and operations, and formulating conclusions of audit findings and making recommendations corrective actions. Use Federal regulations, accounting and auditing concepts, and records of Congressional hearings to plan and conduct a variety of reports, surveys, or special studies to determine compliance with applicable laws and regulations and formulate report findings of audits or examinations. Providing professional advice and direction to lower grade auditors and senior leadership on the development of audit techniques and procedures to enhance the performance of audited entities. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service). Time-In-Grade requirements apply to current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment and must be met by the closing date of this announcement. CTAP/ICTAP eligible candidates may only be considered for priority placement at or below their current (or last) grade level, with no greater promotion potential than the position from which you were (or are being) separated.
