You will serve as a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will review internal and external program directive changes and revisions for impact on areas managed. You will oversee and manage all personnel and physical security aspects. You will provide planning and coordination of management procedures and review processes. You will coordinate telecommunication service requests based on departmental needs for equipment and/ or relocations. You will process necessary paperwork for obtaining administrative telephone services. You will resolve conflicting recommendations and proposals between author codes and reviewing department personnel.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience analyzing or evaluating the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices, and procedures. * Experience conducting studies, reviews, audits, evaluations, and investigations within a department. * Experience collecting and analyzing information on all physical security functions. * Experience preparing revision recommendations if changes are needed to support departmental needs. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE GS-9: Applicants may substitute the following education for experience: Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree. The major study of such education is in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled.
