About the Position: Serves as project manager responsible for overall project planning, execution, control and closure of civil works projects associated with flood risk management, navigation, hydropower, environmental, recreation, disaster response and recovery, work for others, water supply, special projects and other civil works related activities. Position is located in Chattanooga, TN. This position has been authorized a group retention incentive of 10% of the basic pay.

Duties

Serve as project manager responsible for overall project planning, execution, control and closure of a wide range of civil works and/or interagency support projects. Lead multi-disciplinary project delivery teams and manages resources in planning, engineering, acquisition, construction, real estate and other supporting activities with delegated decision authority to meet project objectives. Serve as the primary point-of-contact with sponsor/stakeholders; various federal, state and local government agencies; Congressional interests; and other external organizations. Provide input and assistance to budget development and defense processes; District programming decisions and operating budget. Keep leadership informed about projects through routine updates, project review boards, and other briefings.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure, OGE Form 450, and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
