This position serves as the equipment coordinator for Department of Transfusion Medicine (DTM) to include equipment used for cGMP manufacturing, new product development, product assurance and character testing. Duties
As the Equipment Specialist (Medical Equipment), your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Providing training to DTM staff on the processes to be followed in the DTM for equipment
Drafting SOPs to document the processes for the procurement, storage, inventory maintenance, calibration and disposal of equipment for use by the DTM's staff and presenting them to the DTM leadership for review and approval and compatibility with other DTM processes
Conducting daily assessments of equipment needs to ensure they are available, properly stored, calibrated and meet DTM's requirements
Scheduling preventative maintenance for DTM equipment;
Preparing reports, briefings, project papers, correspondence and presentations and may be requested to make presentations
Managing databases for the inventory and disposal of DTM equipment and preparing the necessary reports
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
You must have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related.
OR
You demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: procuring, installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacement of medical equipment; managing databases for the inventory of equipment; reviewing the processes for the procurement, storage, inventory, maintenance, calibration, and disposal of the medical equipment and recommending process improvements; interpreting and applying regulations and policies for adaptation to specific equipment related issues; tracking the costs of hospital equipment and developing budget input for the annual budget submission.
OR
You must have a combination of post-baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
