Duties

Glacier National Park will fill positions that may lead in one of the following park operations: Entrance Station staff collecting monies and greeting visitors to the park; Campgrounds leading staff in checking in campers and enforcing campground regulations; or Backcountry Permitting staff issuing permits and assisting visitors plan and prepare for their backcountry trip.
Lead at least three full-time employees performing duties associated with the collection of fee revenue and donations collected from the public.
under the authority of Federal laws and regulations such as the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA).
Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc.
Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds.
Provide on the job training, mentoring, and coaching to employees, volunteers, and/or interns in accordance with established procedures and practices.
Work to resolve difficult or sensitive problems associated with the collection, remittance, and deposit of fee revenue and donations.
Qualifications

MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: fee collection, accounting or financial duties to include operating a point-of-sale system; using an automated financial system to perform accounting and/or financial transactions; ensuring accountability of funds and accurate financial record; resolving issues that arise in the remittance process and assisting staff with fee issues. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
