About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Works on the clothing fitting line and issues articles of clothing to measurements and quantities indicated.
Makes visual and physical inspections to determine whether footwear fits properly.
Selects boots/shoots from racks according to size indicated/visual observation of the foot structure.
Determines alterations required.
Use size prediction table/chart to convert measurements to an initial try-on-size.
Obtain additional stock from warehouse back-up stock for clothing/footwear operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Tier 1(NACI) security investigation.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Incumbent is required to wear protective safety devices such as safety shoes, ear plugs, earmuffs, and safety glasses as required by current safety regulations.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.

- This position has a requirement to lift up to 70 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an CLOTHING FITTER without more than normal supervision. ???????I have the ability to perform common fitting operations, marking clothing, stocking sizes. I can perform restocking, conducting inventories, and fitting clothing with some assistance. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts: Frequently lifts items weighing 40-70 pounds independently and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds with assistance. Work involves continuous standing and walking on concrete floors, bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching above head.
Working Conditions: Works in moderately heated, lighted and ventilated building. Is subject to cuts, abrasions, bruises or strains from handling boxes and bundles of clothing. Is frequently exposed to unpleasant body odors. Work surroundings are noisy and crowded from the number of soldiers processing.
