The Antitrust Division is offering an opportunity for Trial Attorneys to apply for reassignment to a different section or office in the civil, criminal, policy, and supporting offices.Salary ranges for the locations of the vacancies are listed below: $115,439.00 -$191,900.00 - Chicago, IL $117,962.00-$191,900.00 - Washington, DC $121,485.00-$191,900.00 - New York, NY $128,717.00-$191,900.00 - San Francisco, CA RELOCATION EXPENSES ARE NOT AUTHORIZED.

The Division is offering an opportunity for attorneys to apply for a reassignment to a different section or office in the following areas:

Qualifications

THIS IS A REASSIGNMENT ONLY. THERE WILL BE NO PROMOTION. IF SELECTED, YOU WILL BE SELECTED AT YOUR CURRENT GRADE. Eligible attorneys may apply for reassignment to any section within the Antitrust Division and at any location, to include the New York, Chicago, and San Francisco Offices, and any civil or criminal litigating or policy section in the Washington, DC area. To be eligible, applicants must have completed at least one year in their current section and at least two years at the Antitrust Division. Successful applicants must: Possess a J.D. degree or equivalent, and submit the following information: a list, in priority order, of the sections or offices to which the applicant would like to be considered for reassignment; a short (one-two paragraph) statement explaining the reasons for the applicant's interest in the reassignment; a short (one-two paragraph) statement describing the applicant's most significant enforcement or policy work at the Division as well as other contributions to the Division; and a copy of the applicant's two most recent performance evaluations.

Education

You must possess a J.D. or equivalent degree to qualify for consideration as a Attorney (Open Season) for the Department of Justice, Antitrust Division.

All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools that meet these criteria, see www.ed.gov.

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above education requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. It is your responsibility to timely provide such evidence by submitting proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency with your application materials.
