About the Position: Serves as the Mission Execution Division Chief at Army Sustainment Command G8 responsible for current year resourcing and Army Field Support Brigade resource oversight and management and direct first line supervision of resource management professionals.
Duties
Integrates work of a team in which each member contributes a portion of analyses, facts, information, proposed actions, and/or recommendations.
Collaborates with Headquarters staff, Command management, center directors, office chiefs, directors, division chiefs, and members of the Command Group.
Provides guidance to employees in identifying training and development needs to enhance their capabilities.
Manages Command's annual program of direct Army and customer appropriated funds for Operations and Maintenance (OMA), Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO), and associated sub-programs.
Manages programs, developing and implementing goals and objectives Command-wide
Balances workload among subordinates and competing priorities to increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Makes major recommendations in policy formulation and long-range planning, restructuring objectives, and plans to meet changes in program authority.
Evaluates effectiveness of operations/processes supervised in terms of mission accomplishment.
Initiates reprogramming actions, presents and defends to higher headquarters, and obtains approval.
Determines Continuing Resolution Authority requirements and allocates among all Command components.
Develops, implements, and manages total Command PPBES activities, events, and processes.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Financial Management Level 3 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d.
- Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of the certification program.
- Level 3 Financial Management Level certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position.
- Failure to obtain Level 3 Financial Management Level certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year supervisory probationary period assess your ability to perform supervisory duties unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing Command policy, program, operating methods, or procedures to accomplish division mission/functions; 2) Evaluating the effectiveness of operations/processes to increase organizational effectiveness/efficiency; 3) Evaluating overall performance of subordinates to accomplish assigned functions; AND 4) Developing budget/program processes and procedures for executing financial management plans/programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
