Duties
In this position, you will:
Supervise and manage the work of Facility Operations Specialists in coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance across multiple facilities.
Assign buildings to Facility Operations Specialists, who ensure work orders are completed efficiently and tracked using a computerized maintenance management system.
Oversee compliance with OSHA regulations and building codes through regular inspections and audits.
Direct long-term infrastructure planning efforts by analyzing maintenance data and making resource allocation decisions.
Manage the allocation of resources, ensuring budget compliance and optimal use of personnel and equipment.
Lead communication efforts with stakeholders and organizational units regarding maintenance activities and project updates.
Oversee the development and management of maintenance contracts, including vendor performance evaluations and contract compliance.
Provide ongoing guidance, mentorship, and performance management for Facility Operations Specialists
Analyze maintenance trends and team performance to adjust resource allocation and improve operational efficiency
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship

- Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical examination
- Completion of Confidential Financial Disclosure, Form OGE-450

Qualifications
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 (ZA-III at NIST) level.
Specialized experience is defined as:
Coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance tasks across facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems, using a computerized maintenance management system to organize, monitor, and track work orders
Analyzing maintenance data and trends to recommend replacement of facility assets, including identifying failing equipment and areas requiring increased preventative maintenance
Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including OSHA and building codes, by conducting inspections and audits
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
