Duties

You will serve as Logistics Management Specialist (LMS) for the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES). You will prepare and recommend supplemental policy and program instruction affecting the logistical support operations in such areas as supply, non-tactical vehicles, transportation, etc. You will review requisitions against authorized allowances according to the appropriate authorization documents. You will analyze recurring reports (i.e., Reports of Survey, Inventory Losses and Gains) and through personal observation analyzes equipment and other needs to support the mission. You will manage directorate wide contracts oversight by monitoring work progress, timely performance, and reviewing completed work through direct observation and systems such as Wide Area Workflow.

  • Required to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing logistical functions that consist of supply and equipment inventory management for compliance; utilizing automated supply and logistics systems to execute logistic functions; assisting in planning projects, studies and activities in support of logistics operations; perform as Contract Officer Representative for services and supply contracts; managing a non-tactical vehicle fleet. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and EvaluatingProduct Support and SustainmentSupply Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
