About the Position: Serves as the Executive Officer, Army Review Boards Agency (ARBA), Arlington, VA. ARBA is a Field Operating Agency of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.
Duties
Preform general office administrative functions.
Prepare correspondence to senior level personnel.
Review policy memorandums for accuracy.
Initiate staff actions pertaining to command group operational issues.
Manage executive calendars.
Maintain suspense control data base system.
Publish weekly suspense roster.
Monitor team efforts for timely completion of project goals.
Serve as contracting officer representative.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Term Positions: One year trial period may be required
- Travel Required: Up to 10% Business Travel may be required.
- Signed TERM statement of understanding required
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 3 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing office administration functions such as planning, scheduling, screening of visitors, or directing telephone calls; preparing reports to monitor activity suspense dates; and advising leadership on staffing policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
