Duties
Duties are listed at the full performance level (GS-07).
Advises unit personnel on applicable laws, regulations, directives, and policies to correctly accomplish administrative tasks.
Provides services to include budget, travel, procurement, property management, records management, liaison, training, and clerical services to support unit (or management).
Prepares forms and letters for review and signature by supervisor to support program management.
Evaluates data and information gathered from invoices and receipts to update and balance the budget. Handles procurement requests for office supplies and equipment needed to support unit employees.
Provides technical and administrative supervision to subordinate employees. Plans work to be accomplished, sets and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Performs supervisory duties 20% or less of the time.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

- Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-06 grade level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level;
OR
One full academic year (18 semester/27 quarter hours) of graduate-level education with a major study in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position;
OR
A combination of specialized experience and graduate-level education with a major study in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position.
Specialized experience for the GS-06 grade level is defined as two or more of the following: Assembling monthly expenditures for operating budget reporting; and/or Reviewing correspondence for grammatical accuracy; and/or Purchasing, receiving, and distributing supplies and special order items, including reconciling purchases in a database and monitoring when additional supplies needed to be ordered.
For the GS-07 grade level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level;
OR
One full academic year (18 semester/27 quarter hours) of graduate-level education with a major study in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position;
OR
A combination of specialized experience and graduate-level education with a major study in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position.
Specialized experience for the GS-07 grade level is defined as two or more of the following: Collecting and analyzing budgetary information and statistical data for use in the formulation and execution of budget requests and reports; and/or Purchasing supplies, equipment, and services; and/or Composing, typing, and proofreading correspondence and narrative and tabular material (i.e., databases and spreadsheets).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
