ATSS at this level are recognized as the subject matter expert in their field. All duties are tied to maintaining safe and efficient operating capacity of the vast and complex network of electronic systems. ATSS personnel install, evaluate, maintain, modify and certify facilities, services and equipment that support the National Airspace System (NAS). They are also responsible for various duties that contribute to providing reliable and safe FAA services to the flying public.
Duties
Serves as an ATSS with the Technical Support Operations Group. Performs a variety of functions directly related to the operation of the NAS. Responsibilities include integration, restoration, testing and evaluation of new advanced services or service components, hardware/software systems and processes. Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to protect the integrity of all components and systems to provide NAS service delivery.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience for the FV-2101-I includes:Experience with telephone and data cables, wiring, digital voice/data communication circuits and related systems and devices.Must have knowledge of telecommunications networks, ability to assess technical requirements and specifications.Hands on experience with all telecommunications systems including peripheral equipment (e.g.computer networks, optical fiber, on site controllers, data modems, terminals, etc).Must have adequate interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to oversee and coordinate telecommunications activities, document requests, activities, specifications, and installation plans.Generally, experience at the next lower level, pay band FV-H/level III or equivalent, meets the minimum qualifications for this position as long as the experience supports the demonstrated abilities.Eligible applicants meeting the minimum qualification requirements and selective factor(s), if applicable, may be further evaluated on the Demonstrated Abilities and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) listed in the announcement.
