THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER, Position Description Number D1739P01 and is part of the CO 140 AMXS, National Guard.
This position is located in an Air National Guard (ANG) Aviation Wing, Aircraft Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Weapons Element.
Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to lead subordinates in the performance of aircraft ordnance work and electronic work that consist of complex electronic and aircraft ordnance systems maintenance. Provides direction and advice to resolve problems on aircraft ordnance and electronic systems on fighter aircraft. Monitors work of assigned personnel, sets the work pace, conveys work assignments, and ensures that materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available. Ensures assigned personnel are fully utilized and work is accomplished in accordance with established time frames and priorities. Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance (e.g., additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees). Routinely works with and alongside journey-level counterparts. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard.
- Must hold the grade of E-6.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- For positions requiring the operation for motor vehicle, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Must have at least 24 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems.
2. Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist.
3. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment.
4. Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment.
5. Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.
6. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series.
7. Experience in the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment.
8. Experience in the ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
