The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) Directorate for Mission Integration (MI) creates a consistent and holistic view of intelligence from collection to analysis and serves as the Director of National Intelligence's (DNI) principal advisor on all aspects of intelligence. MI integrates mission capabilities, informs enterprise resource and policy decisions, and ensures the delivery of timely, objective, accurate, and relevant intelligence.
Duties
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the compilation and review often disparate and inconsistent data to address the most complex intelligence issues or problems for the most senior internal/external customers.
Conduct in-depth, detailed analysis of IC data sources for veracity, internal consistency, and utility in answering customer and stakeholder questions.
Coordinate accurate, timely, and sophisticated data analysis in support of the most complex key ODNI, United States national security and foreign policy objectives and to shape Intelligence Community analysis priorities. Conduct complex statistical, mathematical, geospatial modeling, and data mining analysis independently or in partnership with other Data Scientist or Analyst colleagues.
Develop and lead the development of AI/ML and other data analytic tools and techniques in a classified environment.
Work with data providers to ensure the completeness, accuracy, utility, and integrity, of data sets and ensure the compatibility of those data sets with existing holdings.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen residing in the United States
- Appointment is subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI)
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- A two-year trial period is required for all new permanent appointments to the ODNI.
Qualifications
Mandatory requirements:
Demonstrated ability to apply analytic, quantitative, and qualitative techniques to analyze, evaluate, and recommend appropriate alternatives to complex issues.
Applied Mathematics (e.g., probability and statistics, formal modeling, computational social sciences); Computer Programming (e.g., programming languages, math/statistics packages, computer science, machine learning, scientific computing); and Visualization (e.g. GIS/geospatial analysis, telemetry analysis)
Extensive knowledge of the IC and its components, missions, and interrelationships.
Extensive experience developing data visualization tools to meet customer needs.
Extensive experience cleaning, normalizing, and otherwise enhancing the fidelity of data.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex, technical findings into an easily understood narrative (i.e. tell story with data).
Demonstrated ability to multitask and change focus quickly as demands change.
Bachelor's degree in quantitative or technical field of study (e.g. statistics, mathematics, computer science, physical science, economics, Geographic Information Systems)
