Duties
The major duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of budget administration and analysis; including preparing, justifying, reporting on, and executing the budget; and the relationships among program, budget, accounting, and reporting systems.
Use computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
Express ideas and facts to individuals or groups effectively; make clear and convincing oral presentations; listen to others; facilitate an open exchange of ideas.
Express facts and ideas in writing in a succinct and organized manner.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
About the area:
This position is located within the park in Mammoth Hot Springs, WY. five miles south of Gardiner, MT. where basic amenities are available (small grocery store, K-12 school, restaurants, motels, etc.). Full-service amenities are available 60 miles north in Livingston, MT and 90 miles northwest in Bozeman, MT. A small medical clinic is located at Mammoth Hot Springs. Temperatures in this area of the park vary from 70-90+ degrees Fahrenheit in the summer to sub-zero in the winter.
The North Entrance to the Northeast Entrance is the only road open to wheeled vehicles all year. Year-round visitation is steadily trending toward significant increases in autumn, winter, and spring. Mammoth Hot Springs is the only year-round, NPS visitor services operation in the park. Albright Visitor Center is open 364 days per year and currently closed Thanksgiving.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-12/09/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
SELECTIVE FACTOR: The duties of this position require the incumbent to have the ability to type at least 40 words per minute based on a five-minute typing test with three or fewer mistakes. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position.

To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: Performed administrative functions such as payroll, personnel, travel, procurement, budget, and/or formal correspondence. You must include hours per week worked.
-OR-
EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least four years of education above high school (120 semester hour or 180 quarter hours) in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. You must include transcripts.
-OR-
Successful completion of an equivalent combination of education and experience. NOTE: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours of a course of study leading to a bachelor's degree is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirements. Two full academic years of study, or 60 semester hours, beyond the second year is equivalent to l year of specialized experience. For example, specialized experience described in A above (50% of the experience requirement), and three years of college study from an accredited institution (50% of the qualifying education). You must include transcripts and hours worked per week.
To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: Performed a wide variety of advanced administrative functions such as coordinating payroll, prepared and entered personnel actions, coordinated travel arrangements, managed a procurement system, and prepared, tracked, and reconciled an organization's budget. You must include hours per week worked.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: Performed a wide variety of advanced administrative functions such as advised employees on payroll regulations and serving as payroll coordinator; served as liaison with Human Resources by preparing and entering personnel actions, processing employee paperwork, and coordinating background investigations; served as the technical advisor for travel processes and regulations; advised on procurement; and performed budget and financial management by collecting data for a budget, making recommendations, tracked expenditures, created budgetary reports, and reconciled an organization's budget. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using
education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
