This position is located in IRA Hiring Team, in the Office of the Superintendent.
This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years. Term positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service.
Duties
This position performs duties such as:
This position serves as the Records and Information Management (RIM) Specialist responsible for supporting and coordinating records management activities in support of the park's record management program.
Point of contact for technical support and coordination efforts for the park superintendent in activities supporting records scheduling, disposition, accessions and transfers and files management.
Develop disaster recovery plans for vital records.
Develop guidelines on the records management filing system for the implementation and maintenance of the program.
Store records in accordance with policies, procedures, records schedules and records disposition activities.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess most of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: Use records management practices, procedures and requirements to manage current records; schedule records inventory and maintenance to comply with prescribed policies and procedures; advise on records management activities; dispose of records in accordance with the policies; communicate records requirements to stakeholders. . You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: I have at least two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Masters Degree, or Masters or equivalent graduate degree with a major study in a related field. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. NOTE: You must include Transcripts.

Equivalent Combination of Graduate Education and Specialized Experience: I have some specialized experience as described in A but less than one year, and I have more than one year but less than two years of graduate education as described in B. I have computed the percentage of these requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond two years by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.)You must provide transcripts.

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using
education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
