About the Position: This position is located at Camp Pendleton, California.

Duties
Make necessary calculations and adjustments to provide the ordered concentration of medication.
Coordinate break and meal periods for all staff assigned to the Outpatient Division.
Answer routine questions concerning proper use, dosage administration and side effects of medications.
Oversee proper function of outpatient pharmacy automation equipment and patient queuing management system to ensure maximum system availability.
Direct the daily technical work activities in the Outpatient area of the Pharmacy and assigns specific technical job functions to available staff members throughout the day consistent with fluctuations in workload/workflow.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds is required.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- This position may require the incumbent to work during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
- This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals).
- This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience is defined as: evaluating, analyzing or coordinating work activities to meet workflow demands; independently gathering and analyzing data to generate reports; training pharmacy staff; and performing pharmaceutical inventory procedures.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-07: Successful completion of at least one full year of graduate-level education in Pharmacology or a related field of study, from an accredited college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-07: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
