You will serve as a RIGGING WORKER in the LOGISTICS PROJECT OFFICE of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.
Duties
You will plan, organize, assemble, repair, and install lifting and handling equipment configurations to load, unload, and store incoming material.
You will inspect equipment prior to operation to ensure it is currently certified and adequate for the operation.
You will unload incoming trucks on a daily basis and place material in the proper location.
You will sign receiving/shipment documents and ensure inventory records and material receipts are accurate.
You will use automated equipment to verify inventory levels, place stock, verify storage locations, and produce shipment documentation.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator License and Heavy Equipment License.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks utilizing knowledge of rigging techniques including planning, organizing, laying out, assembling, and installing complex lifting and handling equipment to lift, move, and unload material; assembling and repairing standing and running rigging; planning and selecting appropriate gear to support loads; determining required processes, equipment, and tools; determining workload requirements and coordinating actions during handling evolutions; utilizing knowledge of warehouse functions in order to handle, move, and store material in the proper location; reading and interpreting instructions, manuals, and supply documents; utilizing automated equipment (i.e bar code wands, laser scanning equipment, or computer terminals) to verify inventory records and shipping documents; operating forklifts or materials handling equipment; and applying preventative maintenance practices and ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
B.I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks including utilizing knowledge of rigging techniques including planning, organizing, laying out, assembling, and installing lifting and handling equipment to lift, move, and unload material; assembling and repairing standing and running rigging; planning and selecting appropriate gear to support loads; determining required processes, equipment, and tools; utilizing knowledge of warehouse functions in order to handle, move, and store material in the proper location; reading and interpreting instructions, manuals, and supply documents; utilizing automated equipment (i.e bar code wands, laser scanning equipment, or computer terminals) to verify inventory records and shipping documents; operating forklifts or materials handling equipment; and applying preventative maintenance practices and ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
C. I have the ability to perform common tasks including planning, laying out, assembling, and installing lifting and handling equipment; planning and selecting appropriate gear to support loads; utilizing knowledge of warehouse functions in order to handle, move, and store material in the proper location; reading and interpreting instructions, manuals, and supply documents; utilizing automated equipment (i.e bar code wands, laser scanning equipment, or computer terminals) to verify inventory records and shipping documents; and operating forklifts or materials handling equipment. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
