About the Position: As an Army Community Service Multi-functional Manager at the installation level, assist in establishing current and long-range program plans considering the mission of the installation, troop strength, budget, staff and facilities.

Duties

As an Army Community Services Manager, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Implements various service delivery models to maximize Soldier, Retiree, Family, Survivor and Civilian adaptability, promote self-reliance, resiliency and Readiness. Prioritizes ACS services and projects in terms of user needs, affordability, and higher headquarters' guidance. Participates in the development, coordination, and integration of ACS services, and activities across multi-functional and specialized areas and among community organizations. Assigns work based on priorities, requirements of assignments, and employee capabilities. Provides advice, counsel, and instructions on work and administrative matters. Interviews candidates for vacant positions and make recommendations for employment ensuring full compliance with EEO policy and regulations. Represent the ACS program with a variety of family and soldier activity councils and boards to stay informed on operations and/or to coordinate programs and requirements. Serves as a Unit Service Coordinator (USC), providing services to designated military units.

Current Civilian Employees of the Organization In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirements: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) providing general policy guidance on family programs; 2) assisting in preparation and/or oversight of the operating budget; 3) evaluating the overall program within the certification processes; and 4) providing guidance on community service operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and EvaluatingProblem SolvingTeaches OthersTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
