About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The depot is the largest Employer in Calhoun County with approximately 5000 employees.
Duties
Lead worker managing complex electronic control and indicating systems, Numerically/Computer Controlled (NC) (CNC) equipment, electronic components/parts, and electronic test equipment associated with the industrial waste treatment plant.
Manages the industrial waste treatment plant equipment, CNC computer programming for reloading the executive computer program, fiber optics, security systems, CLA telephone system, CLA intrusion system, fire alarm systems, and DC motor controls.
Checks operational serviceability of electronic and electrical components such as transformer relays, tubes, transistors, silicon rectifiers, diodes, resistors, capacitors, potentiometers, and other component parts
Work with production machinery mechanics, plumbers, electricians, and various other trades on equipment ranging from 0-2300 volts

Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires a valid state driver license.
- Position requires 5% TDY travel.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) one (1) year by a current permanent Army employee.
Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted.
Position may be made permanent without further competition.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic (MVO) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common electronic industrial controls mechanic tasks including (parts, components, and assemblies necessary for repairing unserviceable equipment). I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Work involves walking, standing, bending and working in awkward positions. Frequently handles and lifts items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally may lift an item weighing up to 60 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is usually performed in buildings that are moderately heated and occasionally outside where there is exposure to weather elements. Buildings have concrete floors and there is noise from running machinery. There is possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns and electrical shock. Since exposure to hazardous material/waste is possible, wares protective clothing and safety equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, aprons, gloves, ear plugs, etc.
