The Lead Housekeeping Aid position is located within Environmental Management Services (EMS) of Nebraska-Western Iowa Healthcare System. Housekeeping Aid Lead regularly performs floor maintenance using various type of equipment. Incumbent leads a team/s of Housekeeping Aids on floor maintenance projects and trains employees using approved housekeeping procedures and techniques. Incumbent recommends employees that are in need of remedial training based on observations or testing.
Duties
Duties for the position include but are not limited to:
Performing housekeeping duties/assignments.
Leading a team/s of Environmental Service Technicians on routine cleaning assignments and projects.
Coordinating projects with nurses and other area supervisors to ensure work timely and successful completion.
Setting the pace of each task, demonstrating methods and techniques and providing direction to assigned employees in their proper usage is cleaning supplies and equipment.
Ensuring all tasks are complete and deadlines are met.
Involved with the Environmental Management Service (EMS) Training Program.
Training employees using approved housekeeping procedures and techniques.
Reporting progress of employees to the Supervisor and making recommendations as necessary.
Conducting training in a variety of methods, to include class room style.
Documenting employees' training in a variety of methods, to include paper documents, computer software and web-based programs, and other methods as instructed.
Inspecting the assigned area to ensure that it has been cleaned adequately, reporting discrepancies to supervisor.
Conducting inspections of work while in progress and upon completion to ensure that all factors are adhered to and all objectives have been met, reporting discrepancies to supervisor.
Work Schedule: M-F 07:00am-3:30pm or M-F 12:00am (midnight)-0830am.

Working Conditions: Working conditions such as ventilation and environment are satisfactory. Incumbent may be subject to occasional noise, skin irritations, cuts and bruises. The work performed requires continuous walking when making quality Inspections in various areas. When performing cleaning tasks, moderated effort is expended. Incumbent may be subject to working with or around - Biohazard waste, regulated waste as well as emptying 'and disposing of sharps containers to follow infection control guidelines.
