This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology(OIT), FCMBAG - DIV OF ENTERPRISE INFO MGMT SERVICES.
As a IT PROG MGR (DATAMGT) (DATASCI), GS-2210-13, you will provide high-level technical expertise to accomplish analysis of options and development of the design for advanced data systems, software, and complex programming specifications.
Duties
Serves as a senior IT Program Manager (Data Management) and advisor to leadership at the Division and Group level in leading and coordinating the efforts of other CMS professionals and contractors.
The incumbent uses these tools to transform, combine, and clean data in preparation for analysis.
Develops database system proposals and coordinates the efforts necessary to translate business requirements into effective IT data system solutions. Develops, codes, tests, and maintains database programs.
May represent the component or CMS at resource management planning meetings. Develops, coordinates, and promotes interagency cooperative efforts in managing, utilizing, and operating data processing and data communication resources.

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Maintaining a large-scale data warehouse platform; 2) Developing Information Technology (IT) project plans related to system designs and updates; 3) Tracking IT project plans in healthcare; and 4) Performing advanced analytics such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) work.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
