You will serve as a INSTRUMENT MECHANIC in the Product Management, Components department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will recondition, repair, overhaul, modify, and install various types of airborne electronic, electrical, mechanical, pressure and precision measurement instructions and equipment. You will perform complete or partial teardown of instructions using a variety of general and specialized test equipment. You will perform specified tests for voltage, current, resistance, phasing, and close tolerances on mechanical moving parts. You will apply skills in testing, calibrating, observing and interpreting functional parameters, performing measurements and recording data.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSPECT I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including Checking, testing, repairing, overhauling, modifying and calibrating a large variety of airborne instruments. 2) Performing complete or partial teardown of instruments using a variety of general and specialized test equipment. 3) Performing specific tests for voltage, current, resistance, phasing and close tolerances on mechanical moving parts as well as troubleshooting. 4) Demonstrating the ability to interpret technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering instructions. I am considered an expert or I am consulted by other employees in difficult situations. I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks on my own initiative under general supervision including 1.Checking, testing, repairing, overhauling, modifying and calibrating a large variety of airborne instruments. 2) Performing specific tests for voltage, current, resistance, phasing and close tolerances on mechanical moving parts as well as troubleshooting. 3) Demonstrating the ability to interpret technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering instructions. I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including 1. Checking, testing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying a large variety of airborne instruments. 2) Performing specific tests for voltage, current, resistance, phasing and close tolerances on mechanical moving parts as well as troubleshooting. 3) Demonstrating the ability to interpret technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering instructions.
