Duties

The incumbent serves as a Management and Program Analyst in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Operations Support (OS), Immediate Office of the Executive Assistant Commissioner (IEAC), Mission Support Division(MSD). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an analyst to management on a range of program activities requiring application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for assessment of management processes, systems, policies in a wide range of mission support programs. This position starts at a salary of $86,962.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $113,047.00 (GS-12, Step 10). While serving as a Management and Program Analyst, your duties will include: Assisting in implementing, coordinating, and overseeing a variety of program activities which may include, but are not limited to budget planning, execution and control, statistical research, performance measurement, information systems, management techniques and theories, organizational structure, planning and control systems, and other programs. Managing projects and evaluating business programs, acquisition, and contract management for effectiveness and efficiency. Providing management consultant services to assist managers in identifying and resolving problems associated with planning, integrating, and implementing assigned program areas. Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Gathering, organizing, and distributing information to be used to report program status; Providing advice or recommendations to improve the efficiency of administrative operations and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and/or projects; Ensuring accurate and appropriately concise and timely information is available to executive management; Creating briefings that focus on long-and short-range plans, policies, and programs. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 12/06/2024. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
