Duty Location: Provo, Utah
Duties
This position is located in the Office of the Area Manager (OAM), Provo Area Office. The incumbent serves as the principal office administrative and clerical support for the OAM management and provides support for the Director of the Central Utah Project Completion Act Office. The incumbent also leads and resolves problems associated with the secretarial and clerical work of the office.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
Review and edit memos, letters, and other correspondence for signature by office staff, ensuring correct English grammar, punctuation, spelling, tone and format.
Use multiple office automation software functions to produce a wide range of documents, forms, reports, correspondence, charts, tables, etc.
Use a variety of automated systems (e.g., electronic forms, electronic publications library, time and attendance, etc.) to perform various clerical duties.
Provide answers to routine or procedural inquiries, and route to appropriate personnel for answers if necessary.
Maintain and adjust a calendar of appointments for a supervisor.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing at least three (3) of the following: (1) receiving telephone calls and correspondence, determining nature of business, and route to corresponding personnel; (2) maintaining supervisor's calendar of schedule appointments based upon priorities, workload, and commitments; (3) reviewing correspondence for proper format, typographical accuracy, spelling, grammar, and style; (4) entering and manipulating data and information in word processing, spreadsheet, and database application; (5) serving as a personal assistant to a manager; independently managing technical and administrative services for the office; and/or (6) using a computer system to prepare forms, reports, and narrative documents that include technical and scientific terminology.
Typing Proficiency Requirements: In addition to meeting the experience requirements, applicants must self-certify that they can type at least 40 words per minute. Your resume must support your self-certification of your typing ability. Otherwise, you may not meet the minimum qualifications requirements for this position.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
One year at the GS-06 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level.
Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered.

One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".
