About the Position: This position is located at a multi-use lake project with the business line functions of Flood Risk Management, Recreation, Environmental Stewardship and Water Supply. The incumbent will serve as the technical staff advisor to the project manager for operations and maintenance projects.
Duties
Performing quality assurance for contracts and small construction projects.
Managing complex recreational projects.
Providing guidance and/or making recommendations on various maintenance projects.
Coordinating daily work assignments for lower graded maintenance workers.
Leading meetings pertaining to constructions/performance projects.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a one-year probationary period.
- Drug and Alcohol testing required.
- Commercial Driver's license required.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs.
- This position requires a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle License.
- May be required to operate equipment/machinery such as but not limited to a backhoe/front end loader, skid steer loader, 30-ton gantry crane, and other smaller miscellaneous equipment.
- May be required to periodically perform carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical work as necessary to complete project/program requirements.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing strategies to reduce operational and maintenance costs, 2) Identifying and/or recommending solutions in various maintenance projects and programs such as: construction, operations and maintenance of campsites, utility systems, sanitary facilities, sewage disposal systems, and maintenance of roads, and 3) Providing direction and guidance to lower graded maintenance workers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
