About the Position: Assists Realty Specialists with day-to-day real estate activities for the management, disposal, and/or acquisition of real property.
Management may select from either the GS-05, GS-06 or GS-07 grade level with promotion potential to the GS 7.
Duties
Ensure all Real Estate actions are processed, and the files are documented in accordance with all appropriate laws and regulations.
Manages ongoing leases; processing rent and expense payments and resolving problems with the lessor.
Obligates, schedules, and pays leases for the Recruiting Program.
Maintains current status of ongoing projects
Coordinates with lessors, Property Management Companies, or with local, state, or Federal government representatives, as necessary, by telephone or in writing to obtain information for management actions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires up to 25% business travel.
- A successful 1-year probationary period is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-05 Minimum Qualifications: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing various computer systems to access, input, track and maintain information; preparing various forms, correspondence, memorandums, and reports following guides and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years (minimum of 120 semester hours) of education above the high school level obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must submit copies of all relevant transcripts with your application.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must submit copies of all relevant transcripts with your application.)
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For the GS -6 and GS 7 below you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. No substitution of education for experience is permitted.
GS-06 Minimum Qualifications: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing various computer application (i.e., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft excel, etc.) to access, input, track and maintain information; preparing various forms correspondence, memorandums and reports following guides and regulation as well as inputting data into databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
GS-07 Minimum Qualifications: One year of specialized experience which includes ensuring Real Estate actions are processed, and the files are documented in according to all appropriate laws and regulations; manage ongoing leases, processing rent and expense payments and resolving problems with the lessor. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
