This SPECIAL MISSION AVIATOR (INSTRUCTOR) position, is located at Air National Guard (ANG) flying unit, Operations section that flies HH-60 and/or CV-22 and is part of the CA 129 RQW.
Duties
THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION
Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered.
The primary purpose of the SPECIAL MISSION AVIATOR (INSTRUCTOR), GS-2185-10, is to perform aircrew duties as a Special Mission Aviator for the special mission fixed wing aircraft and/or special mission rotary aircraft; to administer, schedule and conduct flight and ground training; to develop, upgrade, and evaluate the skills for Special Mission Aviation personnel, provide training to instructors and flight examiners on instructor technique, student assessment, and training techniques; and to perform staff support duties.
Qualifications
General Experience: Possess experience which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of aircraft weight and balance computations; aircraft performance data; aircraft records maintenance; and aircraft systems.
SPECIAL MISSION AVIATOR (INSTRUCTOR), GS-2185-10: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: experience organizing standardization, qualification, and other requirements of in-flight logs and reports, and records for accuracy, completeness, format, and compliance with current directives; Experience Developing and providing technical Special Mission Aviation upgrade and proficiency training and instruction to aircrew members; Experience evaluating student performance, annotating and maintaining student training records; Experience administering no notice and annual evaluations to evaluate aircrew members' performance during all phases of mission execution; Experience accomplishing pre-flight inspection of the aircraft, guns, defensive systems, cargo/airdrop systems, aerospace ground equipment and related aircraft equipment according to flight manual procedures; Experience assisting pilot or performs engine starts, and monitors run-up, flight operations, and engine shutdown.
