Duties
Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list
A SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, GS-2005-6, (1) Incumbent is responsible to provide technical assistance to subordinate elements, the headquarters logistics section, and other staff sections concerning logistics and maintenance management. Assists in providing proficiency training for logistical personnel within the command. Reviews current and future equipment authorization documents and provides recommendations for modification. Performs random reviews of subordinate organization expendable/durable requisitions. Assists in monitoring funds availability in accordance with regulations and the commander's priorities. Verifies property listings to ensure non-expendable quantities are commensurate with authorized levels of current or future authorization documents. Reviews current due-in status of back orders and identifies issues or problems. Performs audits of shortage/overage annexes to ensure all non-expendable/ expendable/durable items are on hand, on valid requisitions, or turn-in actions have been initiated. Executes supply and maintenance discipline inspections and other like evaluations of subordinate logistical operations. Performs assistance visits in the areas of supply and maintenance. Ensures regulatory compliance concerning the proper storage and security of organizational equipment. Audits personal clothing records at subordinate elements. Examines organizational clothing and individual equipment (OCIE) reports to ensure the completion of supply actions of subordinate organizations.
(2) Provides input for the development of command logistics policies. Consolidates organization level logistics feeder information for the organizational readiness report. Assists in preparing logistics plans for scheduled training. Coordinates for the receipt and issue of billeting, equipment, and supplies for training. Reviews Reports of Survey, Cash Collections, and Statements of Charges for property loss or damage. Reviews and forwards adjustment documents. Assists in monitoring high priority requisitions, reviews on-hand levels of equipment, identifies equipment excess and shortages, and reviews and coordinates transfers of equipment. Monitors the execution of lateral transfers required to support deployment operations. Assists in the coordination and assures the receipt, inventory, and issue of new equipment fielded to the command. Prepares or reviews convoy requests, movement plans, and transportation requests for movement of equipment and personnel. Reviews and forwards the Army Unit Equipment List to higher headquarters. Inputs transportation data into supporting automation systems for the purpose of developing transportation plans for deployment operations. Prepares reports, schedules repair or maintenance, and requests replacement of GSA vehicles.
(3) Performs as a technical specialist in food service administration. Reviews and forwards subsistence requests and consumption reports. Adjusts scheduled meal menus based on training requirements. Reviews annual training (AT) and inactive duty training (IDT) food service records and provides guidance to logistical and food service personnel.
(4) Prepares requests and coordinates receipt of bulk and package petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL). Coordinates and completes turn-in actions for POL. Prepares or assists in the preparation of ammunition requests. Coordinates and assists in the receipt, issue, and turn-in of ammunition and residue. Forwards reports of ammunition usage for reconciliation. Coordinates the request, issue, and turn-in of medical supplies. May be required to receive and issue billets, equipment, and supplies for training. Individual must hold current hazardous material (HAZMAT) certification for the purpose of hazardous materials handling/reporting and environmental safety.
(5) May be required to coordinate with local officials, service organizations, etc., for a variety of purposes: armory security coordination with police, rental of the armory, recruiting activities, and organizational participation in celebrations. May coordinate the equipment requirements to support school activities such as "career days" for the purpose of informing individuals and groups of the benefits of belonging to the National Guard.

Qualifications

GENERAL AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions. Experience using computer and automation systems
GS-05:Demonstrated knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. Experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more automated supply databases to enter and retrieve recurring reports. Experience using working knowledge of the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced.
GS-06 (and above) - 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts. Experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.
