You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Duties

You will supervise individuals who perform transportation work in support of the organization's fleet management program You will prepare reports, and brief the Chain of Command on priority issues pertaining to transportation functions. You will interprets policy from higher authority to determine extent of impact and any changes that may be required. You will implement procedures required for change and follow up ensuring consistency of interpretation and application of procedures.

  • You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supervises individuals who perform transportation work in support of the organization's fleet management program; 2) Preparing reports, and briefs the Chain of Command on priority issues pertaining to Transportation functions; 3) Interprets policy from higher authority to determine extent of impact and any changes that may be required and implement procedures required for change and follow up ensuring consistency of interpretation and application of procedures; 4) Reviews and analyzes performance indicators, work accomplishments, cost, and utilization of equipment and personnel resources to evaluate work progress and control costs; 5) Develop, implement, and monitor NAVFAC transportation policy, directives, and instructions relative to transportation operations, maintenance, management, and administration, and all weight handling operations.
