Program Support Assistant for Multi-Disciplinary Specialty Team within the Mental Health Service Line at the Atlanta VA Health Care System. The position will provide administrative and clerical support to a team providing clinical services to Veterans utilizing administrative expertise. The incumbent is the only administrative person located on site thus becoming responsible for various administrative, fiscal and supply support functions for the Specialty Team with minimal oversight.
Duties
Major Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Provides assistance to team members in performing duties associated with the day-to-day operation of the specialty program.
Managing all incoming and outgoing correspondence, obtaining background information, formulating responses to routine and non-technical inquiries, and routing correspondence of a technical nature to appropriate staff members.
Manages correspondence and assigns documents for response in a timely, complete and professional manner where due dates are required.
Answers telephones, greets patients, takes messages, and notifies patients of appointments.
Arranges, prepares and attends department staff meetings. Takes minutes and prepares them for distribution.
Handles requests for information and resolves or assists in resolving a variety of complaints made by patients and/or their families.
Collects necessary data, prepares national reports and submits required documents.
Serves as onsite ADPAC for entering and tracking non-equipment IT service requests.
Serves as one of several timecard keepers.

Work Schedule: Monday -Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30pm. Hours may change based on the need of the agency.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/06/2024.Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically the employee sits comfortably to do the work.
