You will serve as an Optical Instrument Repairer in the Training Command, School of Infantry (SOI) of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.
Duties
You will test, adjust, troubleshoot, modify, align, and repair optical, mechanical, or electronic systems with interrelated functions.
You will examine equipment to determine sensitivity and accuracy of light transmission, electrical servo controls and readouts, and optical and mechanical alignment.
You will use special fixtures and dial indicators to test elements for alignment, parallelism, and concentricity.
You will test motors, brakes, servos, synchros, resolvers, and rate generators, for resistance and continuity.
You will check and adjust phase relationships of synchros and servos of electrical controls and readouts.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You may be required to lift/carry items weighing 40-70 pounds and on occasion, with assistance, lift items weighing 100 pounds.

I have the ability to performing the following: 1) Testing, adjusting, troubleshooting, modifying, aligning and repairing optical, mechanical, or electronic systems with interrelated functions to include stereoscopic, coincidence range finders, optical tracking theodolites, night vision instruments, analog ballistic computers, etc.; 2) Identifying problems related to fire control equipment and related components; and 3) Identifying malfunctions, repairing, and performing functional tests on various optical components/equipment.
