About the Position: This position manages the 47th Medical Group's Performance Improvement, Risk Management, compliance and credentials programs at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas.

Duties
Manage the Military Treatment Facility Clinical Quality/Performance Improvement programs to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements to meet organizational needs.
Direct the Healthcare Risk Management program, developing processes and systems to identify and reduce the risk of harmful, compensable or adverse events to patients, staff and/or visitors.
Liaison with outside agencies and command, scheduling accreditation surveys, inspections, and/or site visits through the administration of the accreditation and compliance programs.
Provide technical advice regarding medical staff credentials, privileging, and professional certification programs.
Conduct strategic planning and data management for the Command’s management support programs.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirement described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assessing issues related to performance improvement, risk management, accreditation, or credentialing in the health care field. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
