To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 944th Force Support Squadron, Information Systems Branch.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 944th Fighter Wing, ensuring that the 944th Force Support Squadron, Communications Branch, complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the 944th Communication and Information Branch with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Provides technical assistance and guidance to Communication-Information (C&I) Systems users and contracting personnel.
Coordinates with the host communications unit plans office on the Wing's C&I systems blueprint and Base Level Assessment (BLA).

- A one (1) year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
- Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.
- The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- This is a Testing Designated Position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.

Qualifications

Experience: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11(or equivalent in other pay systems) which includes; Specialized experience includes: Utilization of communications-computer systems, configurations, operations, applications, governing directives, and various security approaches to formulates and manage the communications-computer operations, including system administration, system security, telecommunications, information Management programs: computer security, network security, communications security (COMSEC), emissions security (EMSEC) and Security Awareness Training and Education, (SATE), network security, characteristics of the Local Area Network, information operations and protect techniques, system operations and service etc. Apply safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1.Knowledge of communications-computer systems, configurations, operations, applications, governing directives, and various security approaches to formulates and manage the communications-computer operations, including system administration, system security, telecommunications, information Management programs: computer security (COMPUSEC), network security, communications security (COMSEC), emissions security (EMSEC) and Security Awareness Training and Education, (SATE), network security, characteristics of the Local Area Network, information operations and protect techniques, system operations and service etc.
2.Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3.Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
4.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5.Knowledge of deployable computer-communications safety and components. As such, this position must have knowledge and understanding of the mission and responsibility of the gaining MAJCOM as well as the interrelationship between the two different command entities in order to effectively manage and plan resources.
6.General knowledge of public utility and customer responsibilities involving customer premise equipment, building codes and standard in order to coordinate on plans provided by the host STEM-Band/or host identified contractors.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
