You will serve as an Administrative/Technical Specialist (Equipment Specialist) in the Ordnance Logistics/Explosives Safety Branch (G13), PHST Division (G1) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13/14. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $153,354).

Duties

You will serve as the senior Equipment Specialist/Technical Writer for the Air, Surface, Ordnance Logistics, and Undersea Weapons Programs. You will monitor and provide oversight of equipment maintenance and supportability procedures. You will review Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and work products of technical data team members, provide feedback, and direction to improve quality. You will assign technical data jobs and manage the workload of all assigned team members. You will develop technical specifications and documentation including maintenance, repair, packaging instructions, to support weapon programs. You will direct and lead technical quality of technical data, logistics products, and processes used in development and delivery of current and future weapons and associated equipment. You will provide guidance on in-service engineering agent Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) requirements. You will execute ILS support for maintenance, provisioning, and planning, supply support, data management, tech manual management. You will oversee team members in the development of technical specifications and documentation for equipment and equipment maintenance programs.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and developing technical documentation to provide guidance on life-cycle logistics process and procedures in support of weapon systems equipment.
