In this position you will work as a member of the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC), Security Services Branch. MWEOC is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, approximately 60 miles west of Washington, DC. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills with attention to detail and works well in a team environment, and has experience in facility access control, credentialing, and fingerprinting.
Duties
All MWEOC staff have emergency assignments and are considered deployed in place. Exercises and activations are planned and unplanned, and may require long hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
Reviewing facility access requests and using security systems to verify clearance levels for employees and/or visitors OR;
Researching and responding to inquiries related to facility access and credentialing policy and procedures.
OR
1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement;
OR
A combination of education and experience described above, which meets 100% of the qualification requirement.
To qualify for this position at the GS-09 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
Determining eligibility and granting facility access for employees and/or visitors OR;
Obtaining and processing applicants fingerprints AND;
Responding to facility access inquiries and implementing facility access and credentialing policy and procedures.
OR
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree;
OR
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree;
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related;
OR
A combination of education and experience described above, which meets 100% of the qualification requirement.
