This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as an Investigative Analyst for the Directorate of Emergency Services at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Duties
Organize statistical data for command feedback and queries databases for intelligence data and background information based upon identified parameters.
Establish work procedures, exercises judgment in applying basic analytical techniques, and evaluates validity and pertinence of data and case reporting.
Develop reports and briefings based on available criminal intelligence Data.
Support to the Armed Forces Disciplinary Control Board by providing all data and oversight of the board functions in partnership with joint enforcement agencies.
Demonstrate a practical knowledge of technical criminal information analysis methodology, principles and practices necessary to support the patrol and investigative missions, and the statistical needs of the local command.
Effectively exchange information with civilian law enforcement organizations, and to brief police, commanders and the local community.
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of fact-finding, analysis and skill application to identify problems and develop a plan of action to resolve causes and deficiencies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Perform occasional overtime.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug test.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Provide administrative support in the case management of criminal investigations, 2) Compile criminal intelligence data to be used in law enforcement investigations and to create reports, 3) Coordinate with law enforcement personnel to exchange information regarding criminal activity. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Criminal Justice.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
