This position is located onsite within the Southern Plains Agricultural Research Center (SPARC), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Plains Area in College Station, Texas.
In this position, you will be responsible for assisting with the execution of office financial requirements for the Agricultural Research Center.
Duties
Obtains, compiles, and summarizes financial data from various paper and system-based sources to assist in funds control services.
Verifies allocated funds, expenditures, and available balances.
Uses financial systems to enter, track, retrieve and review data, such as payments and accruals, obligations, and similar data.
Provides information about the status of actions or responds to other inquiries by referring to readily available information.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt
- Must be in good academic standing as defined by the agency as {define what has been established}
- Complete at least 640 hrs of work experience prior to completion of degree
- Enrolled at least half-time at a qualifying educational institution
- A signed participant agreement is required for employment under Pathways
- Satisfactory Background investigation and/or fingerprint check
- Successful completion of two-year trial period
- Direct Deposit – Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education as defined below.
PATHWAYS PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment from a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis. Applicants must be seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) and be in good academic standing (GPA of 2.0 or equivalent) throughout the duration of their program. Please see "Required Documents." The duties of the position must be related to either the student's academic or career goals that are related to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
GS-02:
Education: Completion of High School diploma and or equivalent.
Applicants will be assessed/evaluated through application of the agency developed qualification standard for internship positions, which is based solely on level of education.
