Duties
This position is located within the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Office of Renewable Energy Programs and will be located in Sterling, Virginia. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
At the full performance level (GS-11) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Administer correspondence activities including processing mail, tracking assignments in the document tracking system, drafting responses and reviewing outgoing correspondence for correct format, grammar, and coordination of facts.
2. Manage timekeeping, track human resource actions and coordinate onboarding for unit.
3. Hold a government purchase card and provide supplies and equipment for staff.
4. Provide expert travel support for the assigned staff including making reservations and preparing authorizations and vouchers.
5.Support the development of briefing materials for internal and external use. This includes formatting and editing PowerPoint slides and Word documents.
6. Serve as the File Custodian and coordinate with the Renewable Energy Records Program.
7. Assist with property management and inventory activities.
8. Prepare reports and conduct research and analysis.
9. Plan, coordinate and manage the calendar and schedule for the branch or group manager.
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework a set number of days per pay period with supervisory permission.
Salary Information
GS-09: $68,405.00 to $88,926.00
GS-11: $82,764.00 to $107,590.00
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the (1) Basic Educational Requirements OR (2) Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.
(1) Basic Educational Requirements:
FOR THE GS-09 GRADE LEVEL, APPLICANTS MAY SUBSTITUTE EDUCATION AS OUTLINED BELOW:
A. DEGREE: MASTER'S OR EQUIVALENT GRADUATE DEGREE OR 2 FULL YEARS OF PROGRESSIVELY HIGHER LEVEL GRADUATE EDUCATION LEADING TO SUCH A DEGREE OR L.L.B. OR J.D. IF RELATED.
SUBMISSION OF TRANSCRIPTS IS REQUIRED.
FOR THE GS-11 GRADE LEVEL, APPLICANTS MAY SUBSTITUTE EDUCATION AS OUTLINED BELOW:
SUBSTITUTION OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR EDUCATION IF YOU HAVE ACHIEVED
PHD OR EQUIVALENT DOCTORAL DEGREE
THREE (3) FULL YEARS OF PROGRESSIVELY HIGHER LEVEL GRADUATE EDUCATION OR
L.L.M.,IF RELATED
SUBMISSION OF TRANSCRIPTS IS REQUIRED.
(2) Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-09, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1. Proofreading and formatting correspondence for management and staff
2. Managing an automated document tracking system
3. Providing administrative support in areas such as purchasing office supplies and equipment, scheduling and arranging meetings, timekeeping, records management.
4. Arranging travel for office staff;
5. Managing contracts for supplies or services
Must meet three out of the five statements listed above.
To qualify for the GS-11, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
