Develops and applies innovative analytical approaches to support data-driven policy and operational decisions. Serves as a technical expert that possesses deep knowledge and experience in the domains of data engineering, computer programming, statistics, mathematical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques.
Duties
Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a team leader for single or small work activities.

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.ORB. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE BASIC REQUIREMENTS:To qualify at theFV-I (FG/GS 13) level, you must demonstrate possession of at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H (FG/GS 10-12) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes:Experience collecting, recording, and analyzing data/information using program and statistical software to identify underlying relationships or dependencies that may exist for the purpose of predicting future trends or forecast drift based on previous data trends.Experience with reducing processing time, response time, and time of collection in addition to assessing the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques to ensure compliance with policies.Experience with multi-variable data wrangling and layered data visualization of large data sets and multiple data streams to identify actionable data for business or safety management processes.Experience with Machine Learning to support risk management of health care or similar large data sets.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.
