Serves as Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) Employee Travel Program Coordinator, and is organizationally aligned under Fiscal Service, Budget Section. Performs key duties in the areas of employee's travel to include oversight of the Individually Billed Account (IBA) travel cards

Duties

Serves as the Agency/Organization Program Coordinator (A/OPC) for the facility, manages the day-to-day duties of the staff travel office, and acts as the facility liaison for U.S. Bank Travel Card Program accounts. Provides training to program support personnel in requesting approval for travel, performing travel plans, and completing the reimbursement process. Responsible for assisting with or computing and providing travel estimates to all employees for requested travel plans, this includes being able to provide accurate estimates based on federal travel per diem guidelines. Analyzes all travel receipts to determine the accuracy of the receipts and to validate the amount of reimbursement the traveler is entitled. Sets priorities, coordinates operations, and ensures sufficient planning of activities by adjusting workload when necessary to meet deadlines and work priorities. Advises budget and education leadership in the formulation of service-level budgets for education-related travel. Documents and maintains balances in three major appropriation travel accounts and multiple fund control points. Serves as the facility Point of Contact for the electronic travel request and processing systems Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Subject to change based on the needs of the Agency. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/02/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Experience in preparing budget estimates and choosing appropriate accounting or budget codes for travel orders Experience working in customer service to resolve conflicts related to scheduling, technical challenges, and other issues. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: Work is sedentary. Work requires standing, walking, bending and sitting. There are no physical demands.
